symbiotic disruptions

In this project the intricate dance between sedimentary rocks and the Enteromorpha flexuosa algae is interrupted by a singular vertical yellow line in each frame. Inspired by the persistent presence of dead pixels on my monitor which form the exact same yellow line, this intervention becomes a poignant commentary on the intersection of human influence, technological advancements, and the delicate ecosystems captured in the original images. The vertical yellow line, a digital aberration transplanted into the organic tapestry, serves as a metaphor for the human impact on the natural world, which echoes the pervasive imprint of humanity on the Earth's surface, by leaving an indelible mark that disrupts the seamless harmony depicted in the original photographs. The juxtaposition of the organic and the artificial in each frame invites viewers to ponder the dualities of our modern existence—the coexistence of technological advancements and the ancient resilience and beauty of Earth's ecosystems.
